Candidate Information

Auditor-Treasurer’s Office Filing for office is the process by which a candidate’s name gets placed on the ballot. These requirements vary depending on several factors including:
  • The office sought
  • Whether or not it is a partisan office or non-partisan office
  • Whether the candidate is running as a member of a Major Political Party, a Minor Political Party, a member of some other political party, or an independent
As a candidate, your campaign will need to uphold fair campaign practices and provide regular reporting on your campaign’s finances.

The Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State web site provides detailed information for candidates.
